It's just another illustration of how Murphy seems to have it in for geeks and fen who own cars this year. At least 10 members of the Penguicon con comm had major car problems, as have you and Fade. I haven't been immune, either; I had to pay $900 to have a new magic box installed in my power steering system. John's problems are just part of the trend.
