I spent most of this weekend doing the minimum (eating, sleeping, email) so I have no real news. However, I do have some cool links some of you make like.
Fellow LJ user
georgelazenby (whom I don't know and have never met) has provided a truly entertaining account of white man's entertainment, involving insane quantities of iridium and enough complex high-tech machinery to run a third-world country:

For fun of a less-engineering-minded kind, here's a page-full of humorous, creative writing. This site has been updated since I visited it this weekend so it is added to periodically. My personal favorite is "Lunch the HP Way".

If lower brow humor is your speed, The Australia Travel Guide posts what they claim is the Australia Tourist Board's responses to some...uh... clueless tourists. (The rest of the site has tidbits of information about Australia including some links to interesting articles about the place, so maybe this link is on the level.)

Apologies to those of my friends whom I have already bored with these links elsewhere, but is *is* the middle of August, and a slow news day. :-)
