I'm an Internet Comic Strip Character!

Well, sort of. It's all Eric's fault really.

Some guy in the UK used Photo Shop to whack together a strip about Eric and Richard Stallman and Linus Torvalds, and I feature as the punch line of a bad joke:

I mentioned this to Rob a few days ago. I fail to see the funny in all the comics he's done.

There isn't very much funny, but the idea of Linus and Eric and Richard as housemates, and Eric wearing that stupid striped shirt, is good for a chuckle on the first go-round, at least to me. Maybe I'm just easily amused....

I like the shirt; I wear shirts like it. But the strip is dumb.

Great photo of you in spandex! But I basically agree with [livejournal.com profile] mirell--the author isn't managing to be funny.

Thanks for the compliment.

For the record, I don't disagree with [livejournal.com profile] mirell. I'm not trying to defend this guy's (lack of a) sense of humor. In fact, I could write a better strip myself, and I'm no comic genius. But I did chuckle just a bit the first time around--especially over the one with me in it. Don't rain on my parade by reminding me how lame the guy's stuff is. Sheesh.

On you, those stripes would look fine. On Eric, they'd look dorky.

As for the dumbness of the strip, see my comment to [livejournal.com profile] shakati.

For some reason, I thought the strip was hilarious. It's dumb, but it's the right kind of dumb. It's the kind of dumb that makes "up your butt" or "your mother" the perfect response to any question. Now -that's- comedy.

I kind of wonder if I enjoyed it as much because I'm only kind of getting the jokes and I know Eric and Cathy. I'll have to show other people and see what they think.

In the meantime, congrats Cathy on your multimedia superstardom.

Thank you! I thought the strip was funny, too, in the "right kind of dumb way", but as I said it was a funny-once. It's good, though, to find somebody else in the world who I respect who enjoyed it.

I don't think you enjoyed it just because you know Eric and me, though; several of our close friends just thought it was dumb.

Having enjoyed my 15 seconds of almost-not-really-quite fame, I now return to my regularly scheduled life. :-)
