Stuff that dreams are made of?

This morning, I had a dream that was not one of my usual, boring anxiety dreams.

I dreamed that my skin was infested with flesh-eating maggoty things. Oddly, the maggoty things looked exactly like caterpillars, and they were pretty, pastel colors--in fact, the colors of the bugs is my strongest memory of the dream. One was baby blue, another was salmon pink, and another a pastel chartreuse like ice-diluted Mountain Dew. I had to pull them out of my arms and legs as soon as their heads emerged, otherwise they would dive back into my body and try to dig deeper.

Then I woke up, itching all over, and having to convince myself that the itches were simply due to normal sweat and cat hair, and not due to subcutaneous bugs.

If any of you have any skill in dream interpretation, have at it!

So I'm a bit late. I was beating OpenID in PHP to death to figure out how to get it to work nicely...

..that's a very disturbing dream.

Ah, hi there! Nice to see you again.

The dream was, oddly, more disturbing after I woke up than it was while I was having it. The caterpillar things were so pretty, and there was no pain and very little gore, given where the bugs were emerging from.

I Googled for an online-dream dictionary after I entered my post. The one I found claimed that dreams of bugs are your subconscious's way of telling you that you have problems that are "bugging" you but that you've been ignoring. That fits pretty well.
