To my own surprise, I actually got some cleaning done today!
Sadly, I can't take much of the credit. Eric provided the impetus by complaining, amazingly enough, that there was too much cat hair on his laptop's keyboard. (Admittedly, he'd left the laptop on the sofa where Sugar spends a lot of her time, and where she had been lying for much of the past 36 hours, but still...)
He offered to work on his laptop outside of his office for awhile so that I could at least run the vacuum cleaner in his office. Since I knew I might not get such a good opportunity again for awhile, I accepted.
About 1 1/2 hours and many fistfuls of cat hair later, I had gotten all the CD cases off the floor, found a new home for some of the papers keeping them company, vacuumed the carpet (a rather nice all-wool tribal style rug we bought when we moved in back in 1996 or so), cleaned his monitor, and dusted everything I could reach. He thanked me very nicely.
How much of the rest of the house I'll get to in the remaining 3 or so hours before bed is an open question, but at least I made a dent.
