Between Summer Weapons Retreat, my costume blog, I didn't manage to post here very often in July. So I figured I'd start August with a "state of the Cathy" message.

* Fun. Status--Great. On Monday, esrblog and I go off to the World BoardGaming Championships in Lancaster, PA, with a friend of ours from Michigan, for a week of hanging out and playing board games and, in my case, sleeping in as much as possible. That rocks.

* Health. Status-- A bit less than optimal. I have acquired a scratchy, raw throat and intermittent laryngitis. This seems to be the result of my having caught a cold that esrblog was fighting off for the past few weeks.

* Home care. Status--Even less than optimal. Between the weapons retreat and the rain, the plants have continued to grow. My landscaping guy has rescued my backyard shed from the trees, but so far as I can see hasn't done much else. Maybe I can get a bit of chopping done this weekend.

* Work. Kind of quiet, which is great because I'm going to be gone for a full work-week.

We'll see whether I get the chance to post during WBC. Stay tuned.
