Weird Products, Part Two

Tonight, at my local Home Depot, I saw the most bizarre item: An inflatable snow globe.

It stood about 5 feet tall, and through its clear plastic outside you could see the inflatable plastic snowman on the inside. A hidden motor powered a blower, blowing tiny styrofoam pellets around the snowman inside the globe.

It was on sale, too, only $99! Hurry to your Home Depot now!

But for a mere $50K, you can get Robby the Robot! Or an Upside Down Christmas Tree!

I can understand wanting a "Robby the Robot." I have much more trouble understanding a giant inflatable snow globe, or an upside down Christmas tree. What Central European custom of hanging trees from the ceiling? I thought St. Francis invented the Christmas tree custom in Italy in the 12th century!

On the "No accounting for taste" front, take note; Hammacher Schlemmer is already sold out of the upside down Christmas trees.
