In which I alert my readers to a modern chef's take on how to cook flatbread. Any flatbread. Possibly, even the flatbreads that the Birka long-handled "pan" find suggests were made by the Vikings. (This technique looks so simple it may be worth experimenting with if you just like the idea of making flatbreads to eat with dips or stew, and don't give a hoot about culinary history.)

I actually wrote this post a few weeks ago but forgot to post it here too. You've seen movies where shamanic types wore a kind of headdress with deer antlers on it? That was done, at least in Great Britain, during the Stone Age, and how they were made may provide interesting clues to a number of things. My post is about a study in which researchers attempted to deduce how these interesting headdresses likely were made. Go here for the entry.
