Travel on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving; preferable to spending Turkey Day alone in a strange state when all of the friends I want to see on that day will be on the East Coast.
Actually, it all turned out to be academic; my partner pulled rank and ended up going instead of me. So it was just as well I didn't buy a ticket for Eric--either he'd have had to go alone or I would have had to eat the costs for both of us, in a year with a lot of unexpected expenses.
Seriously, though, couldn't you have done the traveling on Sunday, if the presentation were on Monday? Or was the presentation actually scheduled for the Friday after Thanksgiving, when not a single person in the room would want to be there, because you were screwing up THEIR four-day weekend as well as your own? Makes no sense to me . . .
The deposition was scheduled for the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. It was a one-day event, and flights directly to Santa Fe for Philly only leave in the morning anyway.
