As late as Friday, I thought I was going to have to fly to New Hampshire this weekend to help my partner prepare to try a million-dollar insurance coverage case starting Wednesday.
I was not exactly looking forward to the experience. On the one hand, it promised to be a billable hours bonanza, giving me plenty of opportunities to catch up on my "required" hours quota and impress the Management Committee. On the other hand, it was pretty clear to us that the case was unwinnable (even though we'd only gotten assigned to it about a month ago) and Brad's low morale about the prospect was beginning to infect the rest of us.
But our client settled on Friday, so I've been close to home this weekend (since Eric, assuming I'd be gone all week, arranged to spend much of this week in NY on his consulting job). It's been a golden opportunity to catch up on little things, like...sleep! and ...gaming! and maybe even some housecleaning (so what if it's after dark now! I've always done most of my housecleaning at night, anyway). :-)
Anyway, the case was the major reason I haven't been posting much lately. Expect to hear (slightly) more from me in the future.

I saw an odd note from author and nifty guy Steven Brust and thought of your husband. I'm not sure if he and Steve know each other. If they do, your hubby might get a kick out of the idea, I'm not sure. I figured I'd drop a note about it if it tickles his fancy.
Speaking of tickling my fancy, will you be making it to PenguiCon this year? I'm going to be relaxing a bit at the convention, simply talking on a few panels. It'd be great to see you again; you're very good people that I like seeing. :)

In addition, Eric's been to Las Vegas, and hates the place. But thanks for thinking of us!
