Eric just received a death threat....

By e-mail, apparently because of things he has said in his blog about Islam and terrorism. He has just blogged about it here.

As Eric says, he is reporting this to the authorities. Not because he thinks assassins will be coming for him, but because the address path of the e-mail contains a Persian name, so it's possible the sender is connected to real terrorists.

I'm posting this, for my part, because I know only some of our friends read Eric's blog, and I want as many people as possible to know about this. Just in case.

No. He's got his own blog, called "Armed and Dangerous". It's mostly a general interest/political essay blog.

His blog is syndicated to LJ, as [livejournal.com profile] esrblog. You can add that to your friends page.

Unfortunately, a bug somewhere (I don't know if it's in the RSS feed, or in LJ) turned his last entry into raw HTML in the LJ feed.

I'll do that, thanks. Meanwhile, you can try checking out his blog directly to see whether the bug is with the LJ feed. I'd bet it is, because if it was with the RSS he probably wouldn't have gotten as many comments as he did. Instapundit linked to it also.

This death threat may turn out to be like the ones I get - laughable.
But you did the right thing. Have you also contacted the FBI more
directly?

It seems to be a laughable one. Eric says he got a second message from whoever that said something like "Are you working for Ben Ludin?" or something to that effect. I don't know if he actually called the FBI or whether our local cops said they'd pass it on. If you follow my link to Eric's blog, though, you can probably get a progress report there.
