Some of us were calling this one "ExhaustiCon." I don't know if it was the weather or what, but I was more tired after this WorldCon than any other I can think of. Partly that might have been due to being a staff photographer, but that didn't really add much to my usual activities.

Some features seemed positively amateurish. There was no bag check at the art show, and since I was always carrying a camera for official photos I never got in. I didn't make the fanzine lounge, either, though more for lack of remembering to.

I did have fun, but it wasn't as good as LACon III. I didn't even spend as much money in the dealer's room.

I also experienced higher levels of exhaustion than usual, but I attributed that to the fact that the convention site was so huge. Even if you confined yourself to walking back and forth between the Hilton and the Convention Center (as I mostly did), you were pounding an awful lot of concrete everyday. The foot fatigue gets to you, after a while.

The Art Show's practice was not to check bags, but merely to ask to look inside people's bags as they were leaving. To my knowledge, they did not issue any warnings about not taking photos of the artworks and did not confiscate any cameras.
