I agree: if the torque converter was the only problem, and they're replacing it, sounds like you've got a winner.

The other insurance company isn't paying for your rental car?

The "other" insurance company is mine, and my policy has a $500 deductible.

Travelers (her insurance company) paid for the rental car at the outset, and got me the (lower) rate I have it at now, but it only pays for the first 5 days.
