Naturally, the technicians at the service department at the dealership have no problem putting the Land Shark into Park. Since they can't reproduce the problem, they can't fix it. Grrrrr.

I told Service Guy to have them change the transmission fluid. He doesn't think that has anything to do with anything, but because they couldn't reproduce the problem, he had no better ideas. I'm taking it back tomorrow, hoping for the best.

As my mother likes to say, maybe you're just not holding your tongue right. :-^)

As someone who has fought intermittent problems, you do have my sympathy. They can be very aggravating.

But it's all worked out.

When they told me they couldn't replicate the problem, I told them "just change the transmission fluid". Service Guy kept telling me that he thought it was an adjustment problem, not a fluid problem, but I insisted until he agreed to have it done.

And lo! the car shifts much more readily into Park now. I think that it will be fine after a few more days of driving and/or when it warms up a bit.

Did they also change the filter?

I don't know. For that matter, I didn't even know there was a filter associated with the transmission system.
