In the wake of all the snow, ice, and rain, and the subsequent thaws and refreezes, my driveway is a sea of lumpy ice.

The Land Shark barrels in and back out and over it as though it were clear. My poor Subaru would have gotten stuck, repeatedly. I guess the extra 800 pounds of weight the Avalon has makes all the difference.

I love my car. :-)

I take it you didn't have one of the AWD Subarus?

Nope. My Subaru Impreza was not only a 1993 but was a very basic model, and I believe AWD did not become standard for the Impreza the following year.

Oh, good. It is nice to gey buyer's satisfaction, rather than buyer's remorse. (:

Much, much buyer's satisfaction. Just getting a luxury sedan in such good shape for $11,500 is worth its weight in buyer's satisfaction. :-)

Hopefully you'll get to see the Land Shark sometime when you're visiting Malvern (and before time, tide and road salt succeed in making it look like Just Another Car).

That's another great thing about the LS. It's great driving at highway speeds. The Subaru would start to vibrate nastily at speeds above 70 mph, so I formed a habit of avoiding such speeds. But the LS is happy tooling along at 85 (I've yet to be in circumstances where I could find out just out fast it really is willing to go.)
