Our local transit authority, the SouthEastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority, has a souvenir/knickknack store in Suburban Station, its big station in downtown Philadelphia.
One of the products proudly displayed in SEPTA's display case is a stuffed toy orangutan. I have no idea why. Unless L-space has longer tentacles than I'd ever dreamed.

The saddest part about SEPTA is that, aside from their money crunch issues and service issues, they are also inept about marketing themselves and handling their public image. Their last major attempt to come up with an advertising slogan was "You can't beat the system." And you sure can't--even if you want to. Bet that wasn't the kind of associations SEPTA's marketing folk had in mind.
