In the trees outside the house decorated for Easter, they've put up Easter ghost bunnies. I'm not kidding. They have some kind of white bolster for a head (with a face and the traditional ears added), and then a kind of gauze drape (in pink, or blue) is fastened over the head, and tied around the neck, to give the bunny a ghost body. (I've seen this done with "witch" and "ghost" figures at Halloween.)

The effect is...unsettling.

Contractor Guy finished the regrading/drainage work at my house today and was duly paid. Now, we see what happens when it rains again.
Mood:: 'blah' blah

Please, oh please, pics are desperately needed. Ghost bunnies are quite rare in this part of Appalachia.

I have a free account here on LJ, which means I can't attach pictures to posts. And I don't (yet) have a website, so I can't post pictures and then circulate a URL.

But I *can* take pictures (I have a decent digital camera) and *e-mail* them to you! I shall do that, hopefully this weekend. (Actually, I'd better do it this weekend, or he'll be taking them down to decorate for Arbor Day or MayDay or something.) :-)

Outstanding!

PS: I have a new grandcat (Julia's) who is a pound kitty but looks and acts like a ragdoll. She is totally wonderful, not to mention a great replacement for Julia's ex-boyfriend. Now she has someone who adores her to come home to.

However, the kitty probably hogs the bed just as much. :-)

Yeah, I'd like to see them too.

You know, as much compute power and geekitude and net cred as you have in that house, it's really a shame you don't have a web site...

The issue is logistics. I've drafted the beginnings of one, and [livejournal.com profile] esrblog says that he can get biblio to host it, but I haven't gotten around to bugging him about arranging it when he has time to focus on it.

Still liking the idea of effigy moms for Mother's day. The ghosting effect would help it along even more. ::evil grin::

It would be the same template, really. Just cut off the rabbit ears, white-out the whiskers, and maybe add some yarn for hair, and you're there...

But the effect would be, if possible, even creepier than the bunnies.
