the rain has abated a bit, the humidity is (temporarily, I'm sure) AWOL, and it's actually a bit chilly outside. Unnatural as that is, I'll take it; it's an improvement. With any luck, my poison ivy will have healed completely by the time I have to threaten the weeds again. :-)

Too bad they no longer make Rhuligel. I still have a dab left in an old tube, and it kills the itch better than Benadryl.

Hydorcortisone ointment will ease the inflammation which in turn reduces the itching.

Ironically, my rash isn't really itching, but it *looks* vile.

Turns out that my local drugstore sells a Zantac clone (for half the price of Zantac); that stuff's clearing it up nicely. Thanks for your comment.

Zantac or Zanfel? The latter is almost miraculously effective for poison ivy.

It's probably Zanfel. I don't have a tube of it in the house to check, and I don't otherwise remember the exact name. :-)

However, the clone of the stuff from Walgreen's is working just fine--the rash is almost gone.
