Actually, the cafe, the Magnolia Grill, closed on December 29. Despite nasty, snowy, blizzarding weather, we went there for one last meal.
The bookstore has to vacate the premises by February 4, because that's when its lease runs out. The space will be re-rented to a mega-gym style chain. I don't know which one.
And that will be that, for the finest bookstore in Chester County and one of our food and entertainment mainstays for at least 2 decades.
The bookstore may reopen, eventually, in a reduced form elsewhere, but probably without the bookstore--and it was the cafe that made the store so magical, for me. I miss it already, and I haven't even had the opportunity to take advantage of the going-out-of-business sale, yet. :-(
