It's back to the mechanic's garage for my Subaru. I discovered while attempting to use the windshield washers tonight that my windshield wipers have stopped working. Nothing happens with I hit the wiper lever or toggle any of the controls on it.
"There's probably a problem in your electrical system," said my husband. There probably is. Which means the repair is unlikely to be something as simple as replacing a $2.69 part. Since I just spent $900 replacing a very expensive component of my power steering system, this is not cheerful news.
On a different front, I have just put my cat on a high-fiber weight loss diet after a discussion with our veterinarian. Fortunately, she likes the new food just fine.

Aren't you impressed by Eric's 31337 diagnostic 5k1llz?
Sugar didn't seem overweight to me...

As for Sugar, she's good at posing at her best angles, but she's over 13 pounds now. She really should lose close to 2 pounds to be at a reasonable weight for her size again. I resolved not to push the weight issue unless she went over 13 pounds, but when she did (which means she's been gaining steadily for the past two years or so) I figured it was time to act. I saw an 18-pound house cat that was not a Maine Coon once. It wasn't pretty....

The workaround?
After the car is on, turn the car ignition key a tick toward the off position. Just a very subtle movement so the car engine remains on.
Post a reply if that worked...
