I don't think any of the Michigan folk I saw there are people you know, Scratch, and I didn't see anyone but ourselves from the Philadelphia area. (Arisia was the same weekend, making it less likely we'd see East Coasters in Michigan).

I was on a panel about the SF movies, etc. of 2004, and Eric and I did our self-defense workshop, but that was the only panel stuff we did.

There was no LARP at the con, though I was in costume for awhile--partly because I was helping to judge the Masquerade and I like to be in costume for that.

Ah, new games. That was one of the best things about the con; there was a Mayfair representative there, and we hung out in the gaming area awhile, Eric and I, trying new games to collect coupons for discounts on the games being sold in the dealers' room. We played a two-person "Starfarers of Catan" variant that was surprisingly interesting for being a two-player game, a Yahtzee clone based on the old '50 dance marathons called (I think) "Cha-Cha-Cha!" and a puzzle game called Oceania where players competed to discover and explore the greatest number of islands first (which is again a 2-player version of a larger game). With our coupons, we bought a travel-sized version of "Settlers of Catan" and a full-sized version of a game called "Domaine", a territory-grabbing game Eric really likes.

Eric and Sugar pin me in our heated waterbed under two big comforters every night, but that hasn't quite cured what's got me. I should try the chicken soup. :-)
